| Fraud
Victimization or Identity Theft
Fraud protections begins by:
Never assuming a friendly voice
belongs to a friend.
Never giving your credit card, checking
account or social security number to an
unknown caller for any reason.
Avoid giving out your Social Security
number. If businesses or utilities insist,
suggest using just the last four digits,
or an alternate ID code.
Cross out social security and credit
card numbers on pay stubs and bills before
throwing them away. A better strategy is
to shred these documents.
Check your credit-card statements for
purchases you didn't make. Report any sign
of fraud immediately to credit card companies. |
